Outdoor Wisdom Learning Becomes an OCN Centre

Tuesday, 23 Feb 2010

O.W.L., Outdoor Wisdom Learning, has recently been successful in achieving OCN Centre Recognition.

O.W.L. was created and is run by Christian Fox who is a qualified teacher and Forest School Leader.  Christian has been interested in living off the land for nearly 30 years.  O.W.L. provides hands-on sessions to all those who participate thereby allowing individuals to learn at their own pace and develop confidence.

Forest Schools encourage children to learn social, physical educational skills while appreciating and understanding the environment.  They also give children opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences.

Christian is to provide training for adults who would like to become Forest Leaders and is to use the NOCN Qualification in progression Level 3 Award to accredit the courses.

The units that he plans to use are as follows:

  • Using Teamwork Skills
  • Problem Solving in the Workplace
  • Developing and Using Research Skills

OCNWMR welcomes this Centre as a new provider and looks forward to a successful and fruitful working relationship in the future.
