NOCN Functional Skills Training

OCNWMR is hosting this NOCN training event which will be of interest to colleagues in:

• OCN Recognised Centres that already offer NOCN Functional Skills qualifications
• OCN Recognised Centres that are considering offering NOCN Functional Skills Qualifications
• Non OCN Centres that are considering becoming Recognised Centres and offering NOCN Functional Skills qualifications

The training will be facilitated by Janet Ravensdale, NOCN Skills for Life Lead Officer, and will address the following:

• Overview of NOCN Functional Skills qualifications
• How to become a delivery Centre
• Update on the national Functional Skills pilot
• An exploration of assessment methodologies
• Practical session on Functional Skills marking schemes
• Question and answer session

This event will be of interest to both those who have not attended previous OCNWMR and NOCN Functional Skills events as well as those who have. This session will consider Level 1 and Level 2 in more detail than in previous events. Attendees will also have the opportunity to explore the new approved assessments and to practically attempt some of the Level 1 maths tasks.

The session will commence at 1:00 p.m. and close at 3:00 p.m.

Venue: OCNWMR Building, Overstrand, Pendeford Business Park, Wolverhampton WV9 5HA.

Attendance is free of charge. Tea and coffee will be provided.
