Where OCNWMR has established confidence in the internal quality assurance arrangements of recognised centres they may be offered Direct Claims Status (DCS). This entitles Internal Verifiers, approved by the OCN to directly claim the award of specified OCNWMR qualifications or customised units without the need for confirmation by an OCNWMR Centre Quality Adviser or External Verifier.
Direct Claims Status Requirements
Centres will not normally be offered Direct Claims Status for at least a year after centre recognition. As long as your centre’s track record meets the OCN’s quality threshold it will then be considered for DCS.
OCNWMR will agree with the centre the courses and qualifications that DCS will apply to.
In order to operate DCS the internal verifiers associated with these agreed courses and qualifications must have achieved one of the following awards:
• Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice
• D33/D34
• V1
Alternatively, one of the following awards and two years’ experience of Internal Verification will also be accepted:
• D32/D33
• A1
Where internal verifiers do not currently have one of these awards they are advised to undertake a course leading to the ‘Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice’.
